Click image to enlarge Wednesday 29th Oct saw our club hand over a cheque for £1500 to C.E.B.S. at their AGM. Money raised from a combination of our annual fun day, a raffle and the outstanding generosity of Dunoon's local businesses contributed to this amount. John Hughes was finally awarded his patch tonight as well. CEBS Raffle Prize Update Mrs A Blaike - Gleneagles 4 ball package - 1st Also congratulations to Ayrshire Hillbillies Phil and Gina, Stevie Lyle and Geordie who all won prizes in the Raffle. A big Thank You to both Ayrshire and Renfrewshire chapters for supporting the Charity Raffle and helping us raise over £600 for CEBS. Thanks to all locals who bought tickets to support this raffle and so supported CEBS. Another Thank You to all local businesses who donated prizes for the Open Day and the Raffle. A special mention again to GTI in Sandbank for donating the Gleneagles First prize, to the Dolphin Leisure Centre and to Picture IT for other main prizes. Thanks also to George Glass (Hillbillies Argyll) for donating his fantastic original painting of The Waverley. 03/11/08 - Christmas Dance. Tickets and accomodation need to be booked very soon. The travel lodge have rooms at £29 per night but need to be booked asap. Anyone interested can they get in touch with Suzanne so that she can book us in as a group. 28/10/08 - Pin Badges are available at a cost of £4.50 anyone who wants one can they please get in touch with Suzanne ASAP as she needs to order them. 26/10/08 - Cheque Presentation. Everyone who is going to the cheque presentation, can they please meet at Suzanne's place at 7:00pm. Clothing that was ordered can be collected at that time too. Mauchline trip. Good to see all you guys again and the rain stayed off long enough to take a quick snap too.
20/10/08 - Extra Meeting. There's no official meeting this week but a few people will be at the Sundowner from 7:30pm. It's mainly to discuss details about trip to Mauchline, The table sale at Kilmun and paying for club merchandise that people have ordered.

15/10/08 - Table Sale Kilmun. The club will be at the Kilmun Flea Market again on the 25th October to raise funds for the club. So once again we are appealing for bodies to help out and also bric-a-brac that you have lying around to sell. New Member - A big welcome to our newest member, John Hughes 10/10/08 - Due to some server issues the Ayrshire website has had to move to a new address it can now be found at 03/10/08 - Ayrshire are looking into a 10th anniversary celebration next summer and having a big Hillbilly bash in Ayr somewhere - others clubs by invite. They are looking for any suggestions/ideas for raising money and/or the bash itself. Send any ideas through our contact page All Hillbillies are invited to the Blue Angels Halloween party on 25th October (Sat) at The Big Joint in South Street Glasgow. Tickets are £5 at the door and it starts at 8pm. Hillbillies Ayrshire Dance at Christmas is Friday
5th December. Venue will be posted shortly. Tickets are £5 per head and
accommodation can be booked at a cost of £75 per night (alternative accomodation can be sourced which may be cheaper) by
Hillbillies Ayrshire. Renfrewshire are not holding their own Christmas
dance but are supporting Ayrshire's instead and we are doing the
same. 30/09/08 - Meeting has been arranged in Mauchline for Sunday 26th Oct, we hope to have a good turn out for this one as it will be a meeting of all three branches, leaving time is provisionally set for 11AM from Western Ferries. Next weeks meeting will be in the 51st state where the prize draw for the raffle will take place. There are still tickets on sale and this is your last week to be in with a chance of winning some great prizes. The club had a very successful day at the recent Flea market in Kilmun and are scheduling another table for next time. Any bric-a-brac, books etc will be gratefully received. 28/09/08 - Good ride out today to Tyndrum finishing at Oscars. As well as usual meeting on Tuesday this week there will also be a meeting at Oscars on Wednesday this week. More details on Tuesday. New gallery on its way, some wrinkles to iron out with it but its more or less finished check it out here 16/09/08 - Member Update - New committee members have been announced with Derek Webber taking over as Vice President, Suzanne Welsh our new Secretary and Humphrey Matthey as Treasurer. We all wish them best wishes in their new positions. Raffle tickets are now on sale in further support for The Cowal Elderly Befriending Scheme. The Hillbillies MCC Argyll are holding a raffle. Prizes include a FOUR BALL at Gleneagles, a 6 month membership for 2 at Dolphin Leisure Centre, an original painting of The Waverly Paddle Steamer, a family portrait from Picture IT, plus many other runner up prizes. So please help us to help The C.E.B.S. a bit more by purchasing some tickets for your chance to win one of these fabulous prizes. The Hillbillies Argyll were asked by The Council to help out with car parking over Cowal Games weekend. This was attended to by a select few members who were on hand. Well done to those who helped out.
